This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, technologies, and governance structures involved in managing and developing Smart Cities with digital public administrations, preparing them to tackle the complexities of urban transformation and process engineering management in the digital era.
This course surveys the smartest cities in the world, introduces the topic of smart city management in terms of needed urban services, improved digital services, and smart city operations management.
A method for how one might design a smart city by acquiring needed functional capabilities by incorporating sensors and devices into lamp posts and distributing those throughout the city. The course then ends with a discussion on how to leverage Machine Learning to transmit real time sensor information back to a smart city command center for processing and display.
