"A Radical Approach To Bee Conservation"
HuchiHive is a bee conservation startup and their radical approach to Bee Conservation has got them featured by the BBC twice and CNBC Africa, as they use digital technology to combat the devastating effects on bee colonies in Africa. The enterprise uses IoT, big data and digital platform to develop smart bee farming across the continent. Valuable data insights of bees’ living conditions, migratory practices to combat “factors causing Colony Collapse Disorder which threatens the survival of the honey bees. “
"Huchi smart-hives allow remote access to a beehive’s location, humidity, temperature, sounds and weight; the team are working on measuring pesticide residue, too." BBC
Connected Bees: IoT-Enabled Bee Tracking
Smart connected micro sensors will be placed on individual bees will track the movements, by implementing IoT, the data will be relayed in real time. The digital platform will create a hub and ecosystem of data driven farmers targeting zero hunger and poverty.
Smart Hives
Huchi Hives are smart hives that will be data collection centres of the bee’s habitat with connected sensors transmitting the actual bees’ living conditions. Temperature, humidity, light statistics will be logged – this valuable big data will be used for business intelligence, and exploratory data analysis will enable root cause analysis for the bees’ population decline and challenges across the globe.
